Xi Wang is the largest primary school in Bai Wan. It is located in the centre of the Baiwan district and serves over 1000 students, which is half of the student population. There are 39 teachers and 18 classes (3 classes in each year). The new government policy has put more children into the already crowded school building. The average class size is about 60 but there are no spare classrooms to split the classes.

Xi Wang School is also the most equipped school in Bai Wan. They have a well-established library where books are donated by some Hong Kong organisations. There is a small amount of English books. In December 2007, we brought 1200 school bags for the students there.

The school has a new technology building finished in October 2001 with the construction fee funded mainly by the Shi Wan town government of Fo Shan, Guangdong. During the January and April visit in 2002, we bought some PE and art equipment for the school, and furnished the Science lab, the Art room and the Music room in the new building. Students enjoy the new facilities and have found the lessons more interesting.

With improved facilities, in 2004 the school is officially granted the status of grade one school in Qingxin County .
