Hao Qiang was a small primary school in Bai Wan. The school building was finished in 1997 with a donation from Macau. In 2009, there were only about 150 students. The school is closed down since September 2011.

In December 2000, we donated the uniforms and equipment to establish the school band (Young Pioneer Squad) for Hao Qiang. In order to minimise damage, these instruments will only be used during performances while substitutes will be used in rehearsals.

According to school principal Mr. Wong, students consider it an honour to be selected to play in the school band. Only all round students with excellent academic achievement and good character will be selected. Hence the school band will be a strong motivation for students to strive for the highest standard.

In April 2001, we were treated to the band's first public performance. It was a very high-standard performance although they had only practised for about a month. Students in their bright red uniform were a sharp contrast to their fellow schoolmates.

In July 2001, we equipped the school with a set of computer and printer. Mr. Wong and his staff are very excited about this new machine and have been working very hard to learn to use the various applications available.

During the July visit in 2001, we bought the school some essential PE equipment. After our October visit in 2002, we donated a music room with 40 keyboards. Students have been enjoyed using these facilities. In November 2004, we donated the rain shelter for students’ bicycle park. In 2005, we bought new basketball frames for the school.

In 2006, we sponsored the school to turn the muddy ground at the main entrance into a concrete pathway.

From September 2008, we subsidize the teaching staff to maintain school equipment at their free time. We also sponsor the school’s maintenance budget to keep the equipment up and running.
